Fleetwood Town vs. Chesterfield

Spireites Make Their First Visit To Fleetwood.

The Spireites make their first League visit to Fleetwood for their last away match of the season. Over a thousand Spireites are expected at the game with a lot wearing fancy dress, it promises to be a real carnival atmosphere. Hopefully the sun will shine and the football will be end to end, with some free flowing attacking football. Both teams have a chance of making the play-offs, but will have to win their last 2 games and hope Bradford fail to win any of their remaining 2 games. After a dismal displey ending in defeat at home to Plymouth, the Spireites will be wanting to give a big performance. The Cod Army have also struggled to find their form recently and have lost their last 2 games losing 3-0 at home to Rochdale, followed by a 2-1 defeat at Rotherham.

Vital Quotes:

Paul Cook told the official club website:'They've got some really good players at the club. The chairman there has invested heavily in the playing staff.

'I think the most important thing is we sort ourselves out, I've said that in the past and always maintain that.

'Tomorrow, we put a team out that still has a chance of getting to Wembley and if that doesn't stimulate you then I give in.'

Talking to the official website boss Graham Alexander said:'The last home game of any season is very important and this is our first in the Football League.

'We have the potential for a fantastic atmosphere on Saturday. As a club we can look back on many achievements this season and look forward to a second Football League campaign.'

Fleetwood Town Team News:

Fleetwood will be without top scorer Jon Parkin for their final home game of the season, because he has been struck down with a chest infection.

Dean Howell has suffered a recurrence of a knee problem while fellow defender Youl Mawene (foot) remains a long-term absentee.

Player to watch: Junior Brown

Originally signed as a left back, the number 12 has flourished in midfield this season, scoring 12 goals so far, He's full of pace and trickery and he likes running at defenders.

Chesterfield Team News:

Jack Lester (back) will miss this game, but will be hoping to be fit for his last game with the club when they play Exeter at home. Alex Henshall could make the starting line-up after impressing when he came on in the Plymouth game.

Player to watch: Jay O'Shea

Jay O'Shea playing just behind the lone striker can be a real handful, he has scored a couple of goals from long range this season. He links up well with the attack and likes running at defenders.

Match Facts & Stats

During the first half of the season they conceded the highest number of goals 11 in total were conceded from set plays in league 2,

Fleetwood also scored the most times in the last 15 minutes of games this season and also conceded the fewest goals in the same period. They scored 13 and conceded just twice in the last 15 minutes. Lets hope the Spireites are 3-0 up with 15 minutes to go,

Ref Watch:

Andy Davies from Hampshire is in charge of this match. A first year referee this will be the first time he has refereed a match involving Fleetwood. Although he did manage a game involving the Spireites when they lost 1-0 at home against Barnet, I think Edgar David's was lucky not to be sent off in that game, although he did get a yellow. He has given out 75 yellows and 5 reds in 23 games so far this season.

Match Prediction:

It promises to be an open end to end game with both teams going for the win. This will suit the Spireites, so I am going for a 2-1 win for Chesterfield.

Next Fixtures:

The Last league game of the season at home to Exeter, both teams could still be in with a chance of a play-off place if Bradford fail to beat Burton Albion on Saturday.
