League Leaders Visit The Proact

The Spireites take on leaders Gillingham knowing they need to win if they want to keep any hopes of making the play-offs alive. Cooper has been given the task of Captaining is team due the absence of Hird through suspension. I think it's great that Cook has shown faith in him. I think he's a natural born leader, he's alway talking to the defence. They will need to put in a big performance after a poor display at Rotherham.

Vital Quotes:

Paul Cook told BBC Radio Sheffield:'Unfortunately at the minute the balance of our team is not correct but I do not have a magic wand to make it right. Success doesn't come instantly to anyone, we have to work hard. For us to have a small chance of getting in the play-offs, and that is all it is, we have to win games immediately.'

Martin Allen told BBC Radio Kent:'We have watch the highlights from their game last week - they played very well and were unlucky with several chances.

Paul Cook is a good manager who has done very well in Ireland. He has come in and got a good group of players together.

It is a lovely ground with a good pitch and good facilities. It is our challenge to go and take something away from here.'

Chesterfield Team News:

Jordan Clark and Alex Henshall could both feature having signed yesterday. Tendayi Darikwa (hernia) is still a couple of weeks away. Sam Hird is suspended, and Armand Gnanduillet is struggling with fitness, missing most of this weeks training.

Player to watch: Alex Henshall

Alex Henshall could make a big impact in today's game, the highly rated left midfielder has quick lightning speed and his full of trickery.

Gillingham Team News:

Midfielder Charlie Allen (broken hand) is out, striker Danny Kedwell (hamstring) is a doubt.
Central defender Andy Frampton is expected to recover from a concussion in time to play.

Player to watch: Cody McDonald

Cody scored 25 goals, including a goal at the B2 Net has it was then known for Gillingham in the 2010/11 season when on a season long loan from Norwich, He has joined Gillingham again this time he is on-loan from Coventry, so far he has scored 3 goals from 6.

Match Facts & Stats

Chesterfield have won 13, drawn 9, and lost 9, scoring 43 conceding 38 at home against Gillingham. The gills have the best defence in League 2 conceding 26. The Gills have scored 10 goals in the opening 15 minutes of games during the first half of this season, the most in League 2 during that period.

Ref Watch:

Robert Madley is in charge of today's game. He has refereed 25 games this season and he has handed out 69 yellows and 4 reds so far. The last time he refereed a Town game was last season the home game against Hartlepool, the Spireites lost 3-2, he gave out 2 yellows.

Match Prediction:

1-0 to the Spireites, I feel Chesterfield will be determined to put in a big performance against the League Leaders after their poor display at Rotherham.
