Chesterfield vs. Burton Albion

The Proact Stadium

15/12/2012

3-00pm

Spireites Play Burton At Home.

The Spireites will be looking to make it five league wins in a row as they take on Burton Albion. The home fans will be hoping for revenge having lost 3 times to them in the Championship winning season including an FA Cup defeat. Burton having only won 3 away games drawing 2 and losing 5 this season and are currently just one point and one place above the Spireites. Hopefully a big crowd will turn up to welcome the Spireites back to The Proact Stadium having not played their since November 20th.

Vital Quotes:

Cook speaking to the club website said: 'I know there's a good feeling about the supporters at the minute and it's great, that buzz comes through to us and it's the same coming out of our dressing room to them. We're all looking forward to coming here (The Proact Stadium) on Saturday and trying our best to put on a performance that makes people happy. We can't guarantee we'll win the game but I think our fans are getting to know that we're doing our best.'

Chesterfield Team News:

No injuries worries at the moment, Cook looking name the same starting line-up that won at Port Vale.

Player to watch: Jay O'Shea

Jay O'Shea will be the player to watch, after making his debut for the Spireites at Vale Park where he put in a Man of the Match performance and scored the opening goal.

Burton Albion Team News:

Nathan Stanton will be available after suffering a sickness bug.

Player to watch: Calvin Zola

Calvin Zola standing at 6ft 3 and weighing just over 14 stone he will be their danger man. An all around ability with good physical strength and danger in front of goal the Spireite defenders will need to keep a close eye on the striker.

Match Facts & Stats

The first League meeting took place between the 2 sides at Saltergate on 24th October 2009. The Spireites won 5-2 with goals from Hall, Allott, Lester, Talbot and McDermott. Although Burton have won the last 2 league meetings.

Ref Watch:

Geoff Eltringham 32 is in charge of this game. The Sunderland Supporter had to give up his season ticket to concentrate on his career as a referee. He is now In his 4th season as a football league referee. He was the fourth official for the recent Man Utd v QPR game at Old Trafford. I wonder if Fergie was happy with his time keeping.

Match Prediction:

I think the Spireites will run out convincing winners, the form they are in, they will be too much for Burton to contend with.

Next Fixtures:

A tricky Friday night away trip to 6th placed Southend United.
