You would think I would be excused to think I was talking about some distance european fixture involving Portugal v Holland. I can't believe I am talking about a League 2 match that will feature Boa Morte and Edgar Davids. What a match for Paul Cook to be involved in as his first game in charge of the Spireites. Make sure you purchase your ticket it promises to be a great game. lets get behind the new manager and give him a big welcome to the Proact.
Allott(hamstring) still doubtful, Richards doubtful after going off against Fleetwood. Tommy Lee could make the squad as he recovers from his injury.
Now with 3 games under his belt, we will expect more of his silky skills. He oozes class and with hopefully a big crowd and new manager, he will be inspired and given the freedom to destroy the opposition.
Edgar Davids is set to keep his place. Mark Byrne is pressing for a start. Ricky Holmes(ankle} and Collins John(knee) are both doubtful.
Although he has only played one game, he is the player to watch. Having become player coach only a couple of weeks ago, he played in his first game against Northampton. As Captain he put in an amazing perfomance as the bottom club beat Northampton 4-0 at home.
Its close between the two teams with Spireites winning 7 and losing 6 and drawing 3. Biggest win was a 3-1 at Barnet in the 2008/9 season, 2 goals from Lester and one from Ward. Biggest defeat was also at Barnet losing 4-1 in 94/95.
Andy Davies takes charge of this game, a first year Ref. In his first three games he as given out 9 yellow cards.
I think there could be a few goals in this game. An inspired barnet side captained by Edgar Davids will not be easy for the Spireites new Manager Paul Cook. It will be interesting to see how much influence he can have, with the very little amount of time he will have had. so I am going for 3-3, with end to end open free flowing attacking football.
The 1ST Round of the F.A Cup. Can Spireites beat their first league team in the Cup since beating Wrexham in the glorious Cup run of 97. They have been drawn at home to a now manageless Hartlepool who are struggling at the bottom of League One.
