Spireites Take On The Cobblers.

Spireites Take On The Cobblers.

Northampton Town commonly known as the Cobblers are also known as the Teyn and the Shoe Army. Formed in 1897 they currently play at the Sixfields stadium, they moved their in 1994, it as a capacity of 7,653. They hold the record for the shortest time taken to be promoted from the bottom tier to the top and relegated back down to the bottom again, in the space of nine years.

Northampton hope to have Ian Morris back after an hamstring injury. James Hurst is set to make his debut after joining on loan. Amankwaah has been released by the club.

The Spireites will be without full backs Drew Talbot and Nathan Smith. Ian Evatt will have a late fitness test. Marc Richards will miss the game after receiving a red card against Rochdale. Gnanduillet could replace him.

Caretaker boss Andy King told BBC Radio Northampton: 'It's a silly thing to say, but Chesterfield are better at home. They got beat 3-0 at Southend on Saturday.'
Yes it is a silly thing to say, because the majority of teams have a better home record. The Spireites away record is won 5, drawn 3, lost 3, which I don't think is too bad. They lost 3-0 to very good Southend team, this time they face a struggling Northampton side lacking confidence who lost their last match 2-0 at home to York City.
