Drew Talbot Signs A Two Year Contract
The Utility player Drew Talbot 26, signs a two year contract, after speculation that he would leave the Spireites and probably play at an higher level. A fans favourite because he always gives 100 per cent, he has played in various roles for the Spireites, Striker. Left-back, left-winger, right-back and right winger, and no matter what position he has been asked to play in, he just takes it in his stride and just gets on with it and gives his all.
Talbot joined the Spireites in 2009 initially on-loan from Luton and then signed a two-year contract on 29th of July. He has made 153 league appearances scoring 13 goals for the Spireites. He was converted from a right-winger to a right-back during the 2010-11 season by John Sheridan, he ended up helping the Spireites win the League, putting in some great performances.
He could play a big part in the Spireites push for promotion this season, and the fact he can play in a number of positions is a bonus for any manager. If there are injuries to key players or Paul Cook decides he wants to change tactics for a certain game he can rely on Drew to take on that role without a worry.
Thanks Drew for deciding to stay with the Spireites it means a lot to us fans, the fact that you have shown real loyalty to us, hope you have an injury free season no matter which position you play in, you are our Mr Dependable, I look forward to seeing you wearing the clubs colours this season.
