'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Nathan Smith Agrees 12 Month Extension.

Nathan Smith has put in some wonderful displays this season and deserves a new contract. A lot of fans were worried that he might leave at the end of the season to play at an higher level. He clearly enjoys playing for the Spireites and he is also hopeful the club can gain promotion next season.

He struggled in his first season with the Spireites in what was a relegation bound team, although he will always be remembered for the match winning tackle he made at Wembley that helped Chesterfield win the Johnstone Paint Trophy 2-0 against Swindon.

This season he has been outstanding the most consistent player in the team. Cook Wishes he was still playing, because he would love to have played in front of him because he wouldn't have had to comeback and help him, he would just sit in front of him and concentrate on attacking. Hopefully he will win this seasons Player of the Season Award because he deserves it.

He is a brilliant defender who wins a huge amount of tackles and blessed with speed he can also support the attack and links up well with the forwards.

He is out injured for the rest of the season, hopefully he will be fully fit for the start of next season because he is clearly missed by the club and the fans.
