'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hird Confident The Team Can Go On A Winning Run.

Sam Hird talking to the official site after the game on Saturday said: I thought we were well worth the three points today."I thought it was a good, disciplined performance. To be honest, the pitch isn't in the best condition now with the weather and I thought we dealt with it well as well as playing some good football and being organised."

It was a much improved second half performance with some lovely passing movements that led to both goals. The defence was well organised and solid, they never looked in danger of conceding.

Hird talking about his appearance in midfield partnering Togwell said:'I enjoyed it, I've played there quite a bit for Doncaster, so I'm used to it more than when I was filling for Drew at right-back so I'm more than accustomed to it."

I noticed he seemed more at home in that position, he showed great leadership qualities which have been lacking sometimes this season.

Next up a trip to the New York Stadium to play Rotherham who are now only 3 points in front of the Spireites. Hird talking about the match at Rotherham said:'it'll be a good game, a great atmosphere and we're hoping to give the fans something to shout about. Two or three wins in a row and things can change quickly, looking at the table now we are four points off the play-offs and we're confident of putting a run together and if we are going to do it now's the time.

Rotherham lost 2-0 at Burton on Saturday and have a poor home record having lost 7 games at the New York Stadium this season. The Spireites will go in to the game with confidence having won Saturday.
