'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Spireites Will Not Buy On Deadline Day

Although Tendayi Darikwa as been watched by a few Premiership clubs in recent weeks, they have not put in a bid. It's more likely that clubs will come in for him in the summer.

Paul Cook talking to the official website said: 'There will be nothing happening at our end before midnight tonight. We are where we are at. I thought we had a very positive AGM on Monday and it was outlined that we've spent heavily on the infrastructure of the club and the training ground."

Even though money is tight the club have managed to bring some real quality in, Liam Cooper and Jay O'Shea are major signings for a club like Chesterfield. Also the two youngsters he has brought in, Gnanduillet and Brindley look like good prospects and good additions to the squad.

Cook goes on to say:"I have a squad now that I have to go with and I have no issues with it. We have got great players at the club and we should be getting more points than we've got at the minute. My job is to turn those performances into results."

He didn't expect any players to leave before the transfer window shuts either. You can say that the team have been unlucky recently, hitting the woodwork on a numerous of occasions and refereeing decisions going against them. Under Cook the level of performance as improved and they are creating plenty of chances. There's a belief around the club and still a good chance of winning promotion
