'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jay O'Shea Signs For The Spireites.

The club have shown real ambition by signing 24 year old Jay O'Shea, having impressed on loan, they didn't want to lose someone of his quality. Cook needed to free up funds in order to offer a contract to O'Shea, so he released Westcarr who was believed to be on a big wage and Boa Morte.

He has scored 2 goals from 7 games since joining on loan, he likes playing in the hole just behind Richards. Blessed with speed and trickery he can cause defences real problems, and an eye for goal, he can also play on the wing.

An instant hit with the fans, who are elated that the club have yet again signed a player with his quality and one for the future. Having already signed Cooper and Lee earlier this month.

He should be in the starting line-up for tomorrows game against Northampton subject to the completion of paperwork.

Cook talking to the official site said: 'Jay did really well for us during his spell on loan and we're delighted to have signed him on a permanent basis. He is a terrific addition to the squad.'

He leaves Mk Dons on a free transfer, he scored 8 times in 52 games during an 18 month spell with the club.

I look forward to seeing him play, score goals, create loads of chances, terrorise opponents defences, and wear the Spireite shirt with pride. So a big thank you for signing, it means a lot to us that you have joined our club.
