Cooper impressed Cook when he played in a reserve match at the Proact for Hull City against Chesterfield. He was that impressed with what he saw that he got him on loan for a month. He became an instant hit with the fans, establishing himself in the team and forming a good understanding with team Captain Sam Hird.

He progressed thought the youth ranks for his hometown club Hull City, making his first appearance as a 16 year old against Swansea in a League Cup tie in 2008. His league debut came against Liverpool at Anfield and he went on to make 17 appearances for the Tigers.

Although Cook as yet to bring anyone in, he has signed 2 players that will both have big parts to play in the future progress of the club, having also signed Tommy Lee this week.
