Priced at £3 for Adults and Concessions pay £1.50 for the Derbyshire Senior Cup. Hopefully a good turn out to see a mix of First team players, Reserve and Youth team players.
Holbrook Sports currently play in the East Midlands league at Step 6 level. The same level as Shirebrook and a level lower than Staveley. They are currently 12th in the table, in a League containing 19 teams.
Holbrook Sports were formed in 1996, it was decided by their committee to play at a higher level. They got accepted into the Central Midlands League and won the Premiership title in only their fourth attempt. In 2007/8 they finished 5th in the Supreme Central Midlands League and were granted promotion to the new East Midland League. That season they also won the Floodlit Cup beating Southwell on penalties.
Although they are currently 12th, they had a good victory at St Andrews SC on Saturday winning 6-1 with goals from Chris King, Curtis Williamson, Sam Ridgard and a hat trick from Robert Fretwell.
The Spireites were knocked out by Mickleover Sports last season losing 2-0 at home. This season with Derby County pulling out, having not entered a team, this gives the Spireites a chance to win it. It gives the youngsters a chance to show everyone what they are capable of, in what are very competitive matches. Holbrook having nothing to lose, it will be the biggest stage their team have played on.
