The Saltergate Years

The Saltergate years
Had their triumphs, had their tears
As the lights dimmed in 2010, 8th May
Nivo's glorious winner sealed a great day
Looking back the memories are there
For each and every Spireite to chat and share
The ground is now gone, houses do stand
One things for sure the view won't be as grand
The floodlights fell, to end the era
We have Jack, the Toon had shearer
It wasn't all bad, we had a new stadia
One that met the modern day criteria

The dark clouds were forming under Darren Brown
Thankfully he got found out and was sent down
The relegation saving goal by Glynn Hurst
Got mesen that nervous I'd worked up a thirst
No more Ernie or Bruno goals to see and cheer
But we've always had strikers for the opposition to fear
Every goal was met with the Saltergate roar
Every time Mansfield came u feared a furore

So on we moved to the B2net
Goals and targets had been set
Craig Davies was set for fame
He had the talent to win any game
The championship was ours, yes!! we had won
Time for the party poppers, beer and some fun
Alas the next season we did falter
We expected the management to alter
But it did not, relegation did fall
Surely Shezza wud get the call
Things have changed now, for the better it seems
Hopefully the COOKiemonster will fulfill our dreams
Were playing it on the floor now, that is FACT
How I love me days at the newly named Proact
