Connor Townsend and Jay O'Shea sign on loan

James 'Jay' O'Shea has signed with the Spireites until January 5th, A winger who can also play as a striker. He has played for 9 different clubs already, although he was on loan at 3 of them. He has played 38 games for MK Dons, scoring 6 goals since joining them in 2011. Before that he was at Birmingham for 2 seasons, making only 1 premiership appearance against Manchester United.

He has also played for Republic of Ireland U19s making 5 appearances, scoring 2 goals and the U21s making 6 appearances, scoring 1 goal which was against Spain U21s in a 2-1 win for his Country.

He started his career in Ireland playing for a number of clubs, his last team over there was Galway making 48 appearances scoring 10 goals, and he also captained the team.

The right Winger will be a good addition to the squad, because he can play as a striker and has a good eye for goal.

Connor Townsend has signed for a month from Hull City. He was on loan at Grimsby last season, he impressed them that much that he won Young Player of the Year Award and earned himself a two year contract. It's been hard for him to break into the first team at Hull, because he is competing with Dudgen and Dawson for the left back spot.

Talking to the Hull City website about his time at Grimsby he said: 'I learned a lot of things last season, it was a big help. More than anything it was learning how to deal with the pressure of playing first-team football. '

It sounds like he coped with the pressure well, because he ended up playing 31 games for the club and winning an Award.

Both players will go into the squad for tonight's game at home to high flying Cheltenham.
