Unlucky Spireites Lose At Home To Fleetwood

Westcarr was replaced by Lester, Whittaker back from injury was put in to the team at the expense of Clay. Richards was on the bench, after being out for almost a month due to an ankle injury.

I took my seat, there was a strange eerie atmosphere, something didn't feel quite right. For the first 10 minute the Spireites look subdued. The rumour that Paul Cook the boss at Accrington Stanley was going to be Spireites new manager. It was bad timing a local radio announced it earlier that day. I felt for Caretaker boss Tommy Wright, such a big game against a team that are 3rd in the table.

To lighten the mood Stand Up pointed out their number 3 Dean Howell looked like Jonas Gutierrez the very talented Newcastle player. He then said 'good news for us, he only looks like him, his free kick nearly hit Tesco'.
With only 5 minutes gone, Fleetwood took the lead.
The ball fell to Gillespie, he fired the visitors in front.

Gillespie came close to scoring his second, when he put his shot just over the bar. Fleetwood then rode their luck. Boa Morte created the Spireites best chance, when he used his sublime skill, bring the ball down and skip past the defender, his cross deflected on to the post.

Boa morte had been targeted by the opposition, and he was clearly getting frustrated, when he got booked for a bad challenge on Howell. Then just as half time was approaching, a poor Town throw-in fell to Darikwa who hit a lovely volley into the visitors net from about 20 yards out.

H.T 1-1.

Whittaker who was back in the team, was finding space and driving the team forward linking up with Lester, who was the loan striker. He managed to find Boa Morte, the ball then fell to Togwell, his shot from distance was saved by Davies. Moments later Togwell some how get a touch on a Talbot cross, which agonisingly went wide.

The Spireites were playing with purpose, determined to take the lead. A last throw of the dice saw Richards replace man of the match Whittaker and Smith on for Ridehalph. Sadly Richards limped off, 2 minutes later. Westcarr replaced him and he almost scored, when he raced onto a lovely ball from Darikwa, his shot was smothered by Davies.

The visitors went straight to the other end and the ball pinged around the penalty area, a shot hit the post and Atkinson unluckily hit into his own net. F.T. 1-2.

On another day the Spireites could have won it, they didn't deserve to lose, that's football it can be a cruel game.
Whittaker was Man of the Match, making some lovely runs through the middle, causing Fleetwood lots of problems. Darikwa had another good game, a lovely goal and always dangerous down the wing.

Whoever is in charge on Saturday, will need to make sure they get a win, as Edgar David's and Barnet come to Town.
