'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lewington denies Boa Morte a debut goal with save.

Me and my mate Stand Up made our way to the Proact Stadium. He can't sit down, due to back op, and I can't sand up, because of my Disability. Rotherham have the Chuckle Brothers, the Spireites have the Sit Down and Stand Up Brothers.

There was a buzz in the air as it circulated that Boa Morte would be starting for the Spireites. Hird came back from injury. Clay made way, I felt sorry for him, he had played well in the last couple games. Darikwa also was dropped to the bench, he too had played well. Hird was playing In front of the back 4, which I felt would be his better position, as he normally plays in the back 4. He played in front of the back four at his last club.

On 5 minutes Boa Morte crossed for Trotman to head over. Daggers were getting more into the game and Gayle just shot wide. Williams opened the scoring for the visitors, when he scored from distance after the loose ball had fallen to him. Daggers deserved their lead, 4-3-3 formation for the Spireites had not worked, although Boa morte looked class, great first touch and looked comfortable with the ball.
H.T. 0-1.

The Spireites came out more determined and took the game to the visitors. I was sorting my coffee when Stand Up jumped up in the air, I was about to celebrate, we hadn't scored he had given himself an electric shot with his Tens machine when he was trying to turn it up to relieve his back pain. That was the most excitement I had been given so far. Trotman had a shot blocked and a lovely overhead kick from Atkinson hit the crossbar. Trotman then headed wide, this was a good spell for the Spireites.

Talbot fed Lester and his shot was saved by Lewington and out for a corner. From the corner the ball fell to Ridehalph, he picked out Westcarr, his shot fell to Lester who scored. The place erupted, their hero had scored for the Spiteites,

A couple of failed attempts to clear by the Spireites cost them, as the ball fell to Williams, who scored his second of the game and put the visitors back in front.

Darikwa came on for Trotman and the home side went to a 4-4-2. Lester had a header cleared off the line. Westcarr got a touch on Morte's cross, which the keeper saved, the two combined again, boa morte this time, a goal bound shot was brilliantly blocked by Lewington.

Togwell who had a knock earlier had bravely tried to shoulder on, was replaced by Randall. Forbes was denied by the keeper.

F.T. 1-2

An inspired performance from Lewington denied the Spireites. Lester was Man of the match for Town, always looking dangerous when on the ball. Boa Morte was a close second, his corners always looking dangerous and he showed neat touches and a quick turn of foot. He looks a dangerous player and could be a real asset for the Spireites. Credit to Dagenham they come to defend and play a physical game and played some wonderful stuff. Spireites on another day could have won.
