Empty stadia in the lower league is becoming more like an olden day disease, spreading like wildfire, but here's an idea or a thought, why don't the lower league clubs get their heads together and lower their prices, ie take 25% of the admission prices of today. I am sure they'd immediately see an increase not only in gates but also revenue ie more heads equals higher food, programme and alcohol sales, or if they don't like that idea they should reward season ticket holders, as in when they travel away they should get 25 to 50% discount on the away ticket they purchase.
I personally find it saddening that at the Proact this season are away end is empty, this is simply because we are in the bottom tear of professional football or is it simply down to pricing. I have noticed in recent seasons that season tickets at the likes of Wigan are cheaper than they are at my beloved Chesterfield. I know we are now looking into the £ a kid scheme, but I think more needs to be done or otherwise there will be clubs falling by the wayside.
The other radical possibly would be for the so called greatest league in the world (premier) to syphon their profits further down the leagues instead of over inflating the over inflated egos of the chosen few, I personally would rather watch lower league football, you can see the passion and effort not just a big fat wallet. It would be interesting to see or hear other peoples views on this subject. Lower the admission fill the seats, In my honest opinion it is the future, it is the only way forward.
